Straight Rear leg Stance Exercises

DRIVING STEP

Keep feet parallel.

Step forward while driving the rear heel into the ground.

Straighten the rear leg.

Torso should end up aligned with straight rear leg.

DRIVING STEP WITH REACH

Perform a driving step.

Then reach to the front of your leg with the opposite side hand.

Practice blending the reach and the step.

Practice reaching further down your leg and rotating the torso.

Maintain torso alignment with rear leg.

SCAPTION

Scaptions are performed by raising the straight arms up in front to shoulder height.
The arms begin alongside body and come up opening wider than shoulders, not straight in front.

Keep the shoulders pulled back.

REVERSE FLY

Start with hands down in front of hips.
Open hands wide, pulling up and back, to form a "T" with the arms.

Pinch the shoulder blades back.

Arms can be angled down; focus on pulling wide and back, before worrying about height.
